From ca.1800-1850 (the earliest of these medals made in Europe had the sinograms wrong, if you look closely at the Chinese text you can see the mistakes) These early Chinese Missions medals are rare to find, it depicts Our Lady (Our Lady of China in this case) and Jesus and the text around Jesus usually says 'Pray for the Pagan Children'. In fine condition. a beautiful medal. approx. 20mm or 3/4 inch with bale. Comes from an old South German collection probably made close by probably in West France.
