Oxidized silver medal of St. Christopher with his image on the front. “UNITED STATES NAVY” along with the NAVY emblem is printed on the back of the medal. Legend tells that St. Christopher was a physically large and strong man. One day he encountered a small boy beside a stream and the boy was not able to cross over the stream. St. Christopher lifted the child to his shoulder and carried the child across. The child was unusually heavy and St. Christopher asked the child why he was so heavy. The Child then identified himself as Christ and that he was heavy because he carried the weight of the world with him. The child then disappeared. Christopher died in 251 AD.
